Patient Info

Your First Visit

Prior to your first visit, you will want to download and fill out our new patient forms, which can be found below. This saves you time at your initial visit so we can get right to providing you with excellent quality care! After your forms have been collected and sorted out, we will go over the details together to determine your care needs and goals.

The first visit to our offices typically includes an X-ray that allows us to view the structure of your jaw, the position of any teeth that have not yet erupted, malformed roots and tooth decay. This allows us to all be on the same page about your existing oral health before we move forward with any kind of treatment.

To that same end, this initial visit will also involve a review of your medical history. When you share your medical history, be sure to provide complete, comprehensive and up-to-date information about your health. Some medical history factors of particular note include recent hospitalizations or surgeries, as well as any recent illnesses. Additionally, you will want to provide your dentist with the names, doses and frequency of any medications you’re taking, both over-the-counter and prescription, and the name of your physician.

If any changes in your health or medications occur during your treatment process, let us know! This information will help us to select a treatment method that is the most effective, comfortable and safe for you.

Regular Checkups

We encourage regular dental checkups for individuals ages three and up. These checkups include a thorough cleaning, polishing and oral exam by one of our expert dentists. During this exam, your dentist will check on your existing fillings and restorations, as constant pressure from chewing, grinding or clenching may have caused them to wear, chip or crack over time.

These regular checkups are important to:

  • Check for problems that you may not see or feel yourself

  • Detect and treat early signs of decay or disease

  • Resolve any oral health problems early, while treatment is at most effective and manageable

Generally, these regular checkup appointments take around an hour to complete. Patients should schedule these appointments in advance, as patients are seen by appointment only. We recommend scheduling your next appointment each time you come in for these regular checkups to make sure you don’t forget!

At each appointment, we make an effort to be on time for our patients and appreciate when patients extend that same courtesy to our team. If something does come up and you are unable to make an appointment, we understand! Simply make sure to notify us immediately so we can adjust or reschedule your appointment.

Convenient Online Services

In the digital age, in-person appointments are far from the only time you will have access to our services and team. We value you as our patient and appreciate your commitment to your continued oral health. As such, we’re happy to provide you with online resources to manage your patient information in a safe, secure environment that exceeds HIPAA requirements and is available to you 24/7.

The best part about these features is that they are accessible to you right now! All you will need is your personal email address, then call or email our office to get you set up. Our team will gladly provide you with your own personal login information to access our patient portal! At Earwood Dentistry, you aren’t just a number, or even just a patient. You are a valued member of our extended Earwood Dentistry family, and we work hard to take care of you and your loved ones in all we do! Thank you for choosing us to be your trusted dental care provider.

We know that life can get hectic, which is why we help keep you in the know about your next appointment. Patients can customize how they receive appointment reminders through email, text messaging and/or voicemail. You can also download a reminder for use in your calendar so you never forget your next appointment! You can also confirm your appointments online through your account profile, reducing reminders altogether.

Just like with our appointment reminders, you can customize financial reminders through email or voicemail. On your account profile, you can review and print your financial ledgers directly, without ever needing to call our office.

We’re proud to offer convenient online bill pay services directly through your account profile. All online payments are protected in a secure server via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) so your credit card information is automatically encrypted as you enter it, protecting your information while allowing you to pay your bills quickly and easily.

For our Invisalign® patients, where applicable, you could be able to share your Invisalign® Clincheck via email and Facebook! This is a great way to show your family and friends your treatment progress — and to show them how easy it is to transform their own smiles, too!

After your appointment, we’ll send you a link to an online survey where you can let us know how we’re doing! We truly appreciate your feedback to help us improve and grow to better serve you and your family, so we’ve made it quick and easy to share your thoughts with us directly through this survey!
