Dr. Amy Earwood
Dr. Amy Earwood
Dr. Amy Earwood, DDS, is the heart of Earwood Dentistry and a dedicated family dentist with over 20 years of experience. Born and raised in Elizabeth City, NC, she moved to Raleigh and attended North Carolina State University before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). She has pursued advanced training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and holds certifications in Invisalign® and Sedation Dentistry.
Dr. Earwood is active in professional organizations like the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and UNC Dental Alumni Association. She stays at the forefront of dental advancements, ensuring her patients receive the highest level of care.
Known for her compassionate and skilled approach, Dr. Earwood enjoys building lasting relationships with patients of all ages. Her goal is to provide personalized care that meets each patient’s unique needs, helping the people of Raleigh achieve healthier, more confident smiles.
Outside the office, Dr. Earwood loves spending time with her husband Aaron and daughters, Payton and Kinsley. She enjoys volunteering at school events, local benefit races, and engaging with her community. In her free time, you’ll find her traveling, enjoying outdoor activities, or tackling a CrossFit workout.

Dr. Matthew Garcia
Dr. Matthew Garcia
Dr. Matthew Garcia brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for patient care to Earwood Dentistry. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami, he earned both a master’s degree and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Garcia then served as an officer in the U.S. Army for three years, where he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience.
Dr. Garcia’s approach to dentistry centers on forming lasting relationships with his patients. He believes in taking the time to truly understand their concerns and goals, ensuring they feel heard and supported throughout their dental journey. His passion for creating healthy, beautiful smiles shines through in every aspect of his practice. Among his favorite treatments is Invisalign, a cutting-edge solution that allows patients to straighten their teeth discreetly and comfortably. Watching the transformation of his patients’ smiles and witnessing their confidence soar is one of the most rewarding parts of his work.
Outside the office, Dr. Garcia enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Ashley, and their children, Aubrey and Grayson. As a family, they love exploring local parks and finding new places to enjoy the great outdoors. Dr. Garcia also has a creative side in the kitchen, particularly when it comes to grilling and smoking meats. He’s a fan of Indian cuisine and is always on the lookout for local restaurants to try.
Whether he's perfecting smiles or perfecting recipes, Dr. Garcia brings dedication, warmth, and a touch of adventure to everything he does. He looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a smile you’ll love!

At Earwood Dentistry, we make your family's first visit comfortable and stress-free. From gentle exams to clear explanations, we'll address your individual needs. For our youngest patients, we take extra care to create a fun and welcoming environment that helps kids feel safe and confident.
We'll answer all your questions and ensure everyone feels at ease, making your first visit the start of a lasting, healthy relationship with our practice.
What to Bring
To streamline your visit, please bring the following:
A valid ID
Insurance information (if applicable)
Completed new patient forms (if not submitted online)
Any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss with the dentist
Please make sure to submit your New Patient Paperwork online at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Let us know if you need any assistance!

Sola 5K: This event holds a special place in our hearts. Dr. Earwood participated in CrossFit with the owners of Sola Coffee, and this annual race honors the memory of the owner’s wife, who passed away from ALS.
Durham Rescue Mission: Supporting individuals and families in need through resources and shelter.
Walk for Hope: Advocating for mental health awareness and funding essential research.
Wild Bill: Honoring local heroes and their contributions to the community.
Backpack Buddies: Ensuring children in need have access to meals outside of school.
