Jeannette
DENTAL ASSISTANT
Meet Jeannette
Jeanette is a dental assistant at Earwood Dentistry. She has a particular interest in oral and IV sedation, crowns and bridges, composites and cosmetic dentistry. She loves people and Earwood’s patients. Jeanette’s mission is to provide the best dental experience to all patients with a gentle touch and a caring bedside manner.
One of Jeanette’s favorite memories of work is when a young adult patient came in with extensive decay and abscesses. Most of the patient’s molars needed to be extracted, and the front teeth needed fillings. After a lot of work, extractions, fillings, and a partial was complete. The patient was so excited and pleased; she cried tears of joy.
Jeanette is originally from St. Augustine, Florida, the oldest city in the United States, and she loves the Raleigh area because of the food and the people. She is married to Rod and has two sons, Myles and Brodrick. Outside of work, Jeanette enjoys cooking, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with her family and volunteering at her church. Her favorite quotes are, “Sunshine makes me happy!” and “Treat people the way you want to be treated.”
Amy
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Meet Amy
Amy is a registered dental hygiene professional at Earwood Dentistry. She has a special interest in general dentistry because she loves working with patients of all ages and ranges. Amy has always loved working with people and grew up around dentistry. After years of running her own orthodontic study model lab, she decided to become a dental hygienist. Amy’s favorite part of the job is making someone’s mouth healthy. She loves how her career allows her to give back to people and gives them a reason to smile.
Amy loves being a hygienist. Though she has had many careers, this is her favorite by far. She feels fortunate to be able to help take care of her patients. Amy’s favorite memory of her job was taking pictures of a patient who was 94-years-old. He had dementia and thought he looked so cool in his sunglasses. So after his cleaning, she snapped pictures to show his wife.
Amy has been married for over twenty years and has three beautiful daughters and an adorable Chihuahua. Originally from Milford, Connecticut, she has been in North Carolina since 1998. Amy’s favorite things about the Raleigh area are the weather and the friendly people. Her favorite quote is from Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Christine
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Meet Christine
Christine is a dental hygienist at Earwood Dentistry. She enjoys periodontal procedures because they are interesting. She most loves the ability to improve the esthetics of someone’s smile because of how greatly it improves someone’s self-esteem. Christine loves when a patient leaves an operatory with a positive, upbeat attitude after being so anxious and scared coming in. Some of her many favorite memories of patients are when they leave so appreciative of the treatment they received. It makes her day.
Originally from Mattoon, Illinois, Christine likes the Raleigh area because it is close to many vacation destinations. Being from a small farm town in Central Illinois, she loves Raleigh’s amenities. Christine’s husband is a police officer in his hometown of Durham, NC and they have a daughter. Christine enjoys running, and the quote that she lives by is, “You don’t have to run fast, you just have to run.”
Melissa
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Meet Melissa
Melissa is a dental hygienist at Earwood Dentistry who originally came into the profession without plans to stay. She chose dental hygiene because it was only a two-year program, and she thought she would marry rich and only work in the profession for no more than five years. However, Melissa ended up falling in love with the profession and is so happy to be part of the Earwood Dentistry team! She enjoys building relationships with patients and making them feel good about themselves by having a great smile.
Originally from Elizabeth City, NC, Melissa enjoys the Raleigh area because of its location and excellent healthcare. She also loves that there is a Target never more than ten minutes away. She’s a farm girl at heart and the oldest of five children. She is married to a wonderful New Yorker, Roy, and has two daughters, Maddie and Audrey. Melissa is a homebody who enjoys decorating her house and making it a home for the family she loves so dearly. Her favorite quote is from Norman Vincent Peale, “The secret of life isn’t what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you.”
